New to the area? There are many regular meetings and events that will help you meet your neighbours, no matter what your age - from youth club to Coffee mornings to “Drones” lunch.

4th July

5pm to 11pm: Community Orchard. Hog Roast and Barn Dance (under cover) in support of the Malawi Community Overseas Aid Project. Marvel as dog-collars are swapped for neckerchiefs! Hot food and drink on sale. Offers of help are welcome - contact Jo Sidney 521714 or Jean on 01622 859834

4th July

7.30pm: Goodnestone Church: Galliard Trio performs in this charming Norman Church, supported by the Churches Conservation Trust.  This professional group attracted a full house five years ago in Kingsdown Church - so early booking is advised.  Tickets £7.50 from Faversham Tourist Information Centre.  More details of the Trust from John Vigar, Regional Development Manager (01634 845944)

Faversham Society organised - “Open House” Event.  40th year with 30 properties in and around the market town. Admission by programme: £7.50 (from 1st June 2009).  Call 534542

4-5 July

Norton Flower Festival.  If you can help out, please contact Marie-Louise on 521470. Proceeds go to repair of the Church Tower.  Help can be in flower arranging, cooking, stalls.

5th July

12.00-3.00pm: Rodmersham Village Fete at the village school. Draw at 2.30pm.  Entry 50p.  Go-karts, Bouncy Castle, Beat the Goalie, Disco, super-slide, face painting and much more.

11th July

Eve of Cherry Day Event: 8pm, Detling Singers will perform at Lynsted Church.  All welcome, glass of wine included.  Entrance £5 - proceeds towards maintenance and enhancement of Park Farm Community Orchard.

Brogdale Farm Cherry Festival. Adults £6; Children £3

Noon till 3pm: Park Farm Community Orchard Event: Cherry Day. Live music, Morris dancing, Pick your own cherries, local crafts, beer tent and barbeque, cream teas.  Hanging basket competition.  Children’s orchard drawing competition. Weather permitting!

Whitstable Oyster Festival.  With loads happening every day all around this stunning town.

25-26 July

1-5pm: Faversham Secret Gardens.  Visitors can visit more than 20 gardens all in easy walking distance of the centre of Faversham.  Entry by programme (including map) costing £7.50 + postage or direct from the Fleur de Lis Heritage Centre after 1st May.  Call 534542

26th July

Rochester Airport Open Day: Vintage and classic motorcycles and cars; Go karts; Dragon Rapide and helicopter trips; Police helicopter, motorcycle and dog teams; Air ambulance; Model aircraft displays; Sideshows and stalls; Jujitsu display; Maidstone 40F ATC squadron; Live band; Licensed bar; and much more yet to be confirmed.

16 August

Noon until done: Fete Preparation - Help Please!
We always welcome as many helping hands as possible for erection of our marquees, as well as marking out the arena and parking space with posts and bunting. 

31st August

2-5pm: “Ye Olde Mediaeval” Lynsted Fete: The theme this year should inspire those with a liking for our more ancient past!  This traditional Fete will take place in the meadow opposite the pond thanks again to the landowner’s generosity.  This very popular event raises funds for local charitable groups and Lynsted Church fabric.
Donations of prizes and stall items for sale are very much welcome - bottles, books, cakes, children’s lucky dip, home produce, nearly new, sweets, refreshments.  Contact: David Bage 521273
Free car-parking on site. 50p per adult entrance.
No commercial stalls. 

5-6 September

All Day. Faversham International Hop Festival.  More than 20,000 visitors enjoy this magnificent and colourful event.  If you are in the area, this is well worth visiting for street theatre, Morris dancing outside many pubs and in the square, good ale, food of many kinds, music at every corner, and good family fun.  Pick up your own hop-bines too.

10am-4pm (10am-1pm on 15th Sept): Open Days - Pugin’s Grange, Ramsgate. For those who missed the Lynsted Society visit - here is an opportunity to visit the home of Pugin (built 1845). Free entry.  Pugin also designed our Kingsdown Church. Call for more information 01628 825925

Will Adams Festival - celebrating many aspects of the trading links between this part of Kent and Japan. At teh Black Lion Leisure Centre.

19-20 September

Brogdale Cider Festival. Adults £6; Children £3

25-27 September

10-5pm; 10-4pm on Sunday.Canterbury Eurofair.  Fine food and drink in 100 stalls in Dane John Garden. 

28 Sept - 4 October

Broadstairs Food Festival.

17th October

Faversham Carnival: Entertainments from 9.30 into the evening.  2pm crowning of the Festival Queen at the Guildhall in Market Place.  6.30 procession starts from Whitstable Road.
