February 2007 - BBC News item on the redrawing of constituency boundaries. The chances of a hung Parliament have risen because of changes to constituency boundaries. This video clip shows shots from around Lynsted, including the local flagship pub on the A2, where an interview takes place!). The conclusion was that changes like the one to our Parish (moving from Faversham to Sittingbourne) could lead to a hung parliament.

Kent Village of the Year, 2005. Lynsted “Commended” for use of Information Technology
The use of Information Technology to support the work of those in the Parish of Lynsted with Kingsdown has received a "Commended" Award from the Kent Village of the Year Competition, 2005. The application pointed to websites for the Lynsted with Kingsdown Society, Parish Council, Orchard Group and Community Portal (this website). This is not a bad endorsement considering that some of these websites (including this one) have only been in existence for a few months and are still finding their feet!
Our thanks go to all those who have provided us with interesting material and told us of events around the Parish. With your continued support, perhaps we can look forward to doing better next year.
Congratulations go to the winners of the IT category - neighbouring Bapchild - and the runners up - Sandgate. "Highly Commended" went to Bridge and Hollingbourne. Lynsted shared "Commended" with East Peckham, Eastry, Headcorn, Lenham, Marden and Underriver
