Meeting Report for 4th June 2008

Our vice president Barbara Skilton welcomed us to the meeting back in our usual hall at Teynham.Barbara did an excellant job standing in for our president Bid Trim who was on holiday.

The speaker was Pat Wilkinson who was a very amusing lady and told us about her schooldays in the 1930's.Aithough many of us were not at school in the 1930's it still brought back a lot of memories of our own schooldays.It was such an interesting talk and her memory was amazing, recounting tales of her teachers and the nicknames the children had for them.We thanked her enthusiastically a really good speaker!

Marlene Disney has been very busy organizing the art lessons which about 8 lucky ladies will be having paid with a bursary from the W.I.These lessons are being given by Pauline Trower a local artist.

There will be no meeting at the community hall next month as our group are having a coach trip to the pretty village of Stelling Minnis. They will be shown round the windmill and have lunch at the village pub. Lets hope the sun shines! I am sure it will be a very enjoyable day.
